Abstract. "Cloud Computing" seminar will discuss the following:
* Define Cloud Computing
* Explain an open source technology called "Hadoop"
* Give examples to show how Hadoop is used in Cloud Computing
* Discuss how Hadoop deployments are optimized

Biography. Dr. Nurcan Coskun is currently employed by Intel Corporation. Her previous work experience includes College of Wooster, IBM and Tandem. Dr. Coskun has expertise in integrated programming environments, code generators, incremental compilers, interpreters, language based editors, symbolic debuggers, application frameworks, programming language design, object oriented programming environments, system management, batch schedulers and cloud computing. Dr.Coskun has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University, an MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
