📝 Abstract:

In this discussion, we will explore the infrastructure powering modern AI at global scale. We will examine the shift from traditional CPU architectures to massive GPU clusters, the engineering challenges of scaling silicon, networking, and data centers to meet diverse AI workloads, and the role of open-source collaboration in making this infrastructure faster, simpler, and more cost effective.

👥 Biography:

Emel is a Ecosystem & Partnerships Lead at Meta, Infrastructure Group. Emel has a broad background in semiconductors, and prior to Meta, she has served in several roles at Intel including Chief of Staff in Silicon Engineering Group, Technical Program Management in Data Center Group, and Engineering Management & Process Engineering in Technology Development & Manufacturing Group. She earned her PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from University of California, Davis and BS & MS degrees in Food & Chemical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey.
