📝 Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is entering a new phase where the greatest opportunity lies beyond foundation models. The next frontier is building AI platforms that integrate data, computation, agents, workflows, and scientific expertise to accelerate discovery and deliver real-world impact. Drawing on experiences developing national-scale cyberinfrastructure and AI platforms, this talk presents a vision for AI-ready infrastructure that enables more collaborative, reproducible, and impactful science for society.
👥 Biography:
Dr. İlkay Altıntaş (CENG 99) is the Chief Data Science Officer at the San Diego Supercomputer Center and a Founding Faculty Fellow of the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California San Diego. Her research focuses on AI, scientific workflows, and data platforms that accelerate scientific discovery and address societal challenges through scalable, collaborative innovation.
